How Winners Are Chosen
Every fortnight, our team of expert handwriting reviewers evaluates every entry against four standardised criteria used by teachers worldwide.
1. Letter Formation
Are the letters shaped correctly? Consistent slant, proper baseline, correct height for each letter type.
2. Spacing
Even space between letters and words. Neither cramped nor stretched.
3. Consistency
Do the letters look the same size throughout? Does the writing flow evenly across the page?
4. Neatness & Clarity
Is the writing easy to read? Is the page clean of over-corrections?
These are the same standards Younglabs teachers use in our online handwriting classes. Winners typically show mastery of all four.
Age Groups
Children compete with peers in the same age band.
Ages 8–10 · Developing Writers
For children moving into cursive and building writing rhythm. Focus on letter joins, slant discipline, and speed.
Ages 11–13 · Fluent Writers
For pre-teens with confident cursive. Focus on writing speed under pressure, exam-ready presentation, and consistency across long paragraphs.

Every fortnight. First competition of each month runs from 1st to 15th; second runs from 16th to end of month. Results announced the following day at 11:00 IST.

At 11:00 IST on the day after the competition closes. So a competition ending on the 15th announces winners on the 16th at 11:00 IST.
